I can very well relate to your desperation and anger, but please don't react emotionally. The legal or technical fact remains that no-one guranteed us GC and truth of the matter is most of us said "No" when immigration officer asked " do you have plans to settle in State?" So their is no question of equitable treatment.
. No Sir, I can't say thier is conspiracy as I know of none. As of us doing favor? ... is completly wrong, we all knew what and why we are coming here for. Had we had better choice we would have opted for that. Let's be honest to ourselves.

And even if many people did, do you think those who come from Europe or visa free countries mark "yes" when they apply first time? So your point is moot there. Most people from visa free countries come here work here visa free and go back. They never even get asked a question. How come we get fingerprinted, photographed twice, interrogated twice and yet targeted when it comes to GC?
I am not against capitalism but I am against fighting injustice such as you dont get GC because you were born in India. And yes change will come but if we dont do anything we get nothing.

We too got the magic emails saying our 485 has been approved. It was indeed a long journey that started back in 2000. Happy that it all ended well. My priority date is Dec 2005. I did create a service request early August which helped a lot. All the best to the rest of the guys who are waiting for the approval emails.

FYI - for those approved and waiting for cards in the mail! Here are the details for self, spouse and child - all approved at the same time.
CPO - Email recd on Aug 11 saying CPO on Aug 9.
Aug 12 - Hard LUD saying Welcome Notice Mailed on Aug 12
Aug 13 - Soft LUD
Aug 15 - Hard LUD saying Approval Notice mailed on Aug 14
Aug 18 - Welcome Notice and physical cards received for all of us. No Approval Notice yet! Not sure if I will receive one.

How current is the online status on this uscis website ?
I check it every day ..
For my husband, even though it said card production ordered, the tier 1 customer service said that it was still pending.
But still he got his card, then only after a few days, the cust service also said the same status..
anybody faced this ambiquity with customer service ?

I applied for the first time in 2001, and then in 2005 (due to relocation) and ended up at the backlog center. Another relocation and now my PD is March 2007, and these recent wannabes want Perm approved in 1 month, I-140 premium processing in few days and then onto I-485 which should be current with no retrogression. Amen !! When do you want the USCIS to bend over for you?

I totally agree. I am almost fed up with this process for good. Once 180 days are over, I am switching jobs to advance my career. I have made a decision to return to India or go to Canada in case GC does not work out. Came here as a student in '97, PD EB2 India March/2005 and I am almost at the point of 'to hell with this charade'.

I agree with your assessment. I was there myself this past dec/Jan and I am thinking along the same lines
I dont see why we need to struggle here and the future looks so bleak. India is really booming and we have missed out on the best 5 years of that. If we dont move back in the next 2-3 years we would have missed out on the biggest boom period in India's history.
There was a time when Infrastructure in India was the biggest concern, but things are changing rapidly. I was amazed at the changes in the last 2 years since I was last there.
Good luck to you and hopefully I am able to make up my mind soon

I don't usually comment on such posts and I have seen a lot of people take the side I am about to take. I just think you are being unnecessarily rude. It is these people and their opinions that cause IV to exist as a group. Lets say you are going to lock membership only to people paying a membership fee every month. How big a group are you going to get?
If it is going to be significant, then maybe that's the way IV should go and should just shut down public forums where there are members who can talk and members who have "not bought their right to talk"
I bring up the "monthly membership" issue because I did make donations on multiple occasions (you should probably look up your records and verify). And yet, under the new design, I am not a donor, I do not get access to the exclusive threads that only the privileged monthly members do. So, just like the OP, I am a thankless member who thinks the group is thankless. So, I do not know what initiatives IV has taken, but yet, I linger around the forums because it has so many smart people throwing around ideas, working on theories and just being friendly.
Maybe you should just create a little forum of yours in one corner and put walls around so no one can come in and make suggestions about things you won't tell them about. Does it take that much effort to be nice to someone? Just remember that he is free to tell you what to do irrespective of who he is. What you actually do is upto you. Just be nice for a change, it will make you get a whole new perspective on life!

Im july 5th filer .Filed I140 and I 485 conc .Opened SR for FP because didnt recieve it till NOV .In NSC_CSC_NSC.next day after opening SR i got Fp notice .Obvously nothin to do with SR .Got reply for SR after a month which says " Status I-485 USCIS is waiting boimetrics info to produce permanent residency card "
Any idea what would this statement mean ?
