Hi SKK, it is not really required to have finger printed to get teh EAD approval. (i am talking aboutthe first time EAD). Your FP may come later on. At least in my case it was like that. I got my EAD approval first and later on only the FP came. Hope this helps ...

I have EB2 PERM and EB3 I140 approved. Since my EB3 PD date is earlier than EB2 PD , my lawyer filed my 485 with EB3 I140.
Is there any way to find from 485 receipt or application which I140 was used for filing ?

Provided you bypass those apps that consulting companies line up at the start of the year. This is what Microsoft/Intel etc are trying to counter. They are not getting enough of the H1Bs themselves.
That is exactly my point. I mean even if the H1B quota DOES increase, is it more harm or good?
The new H1Bs will go at the back of the line, but atleast a lot of the people here like spouses on h4 might get a fighting chance to get new H1s? Somehow I dont see how an increase in the H1 quota can negatively affect us EB folk. Now dont get me wrong that is NOT all I want and nothing would please me more if the EB quota was increased as well. All I am saying is, let us not totally oppose the H1B increases just because most of us on here already have one. Half of the spouses on here can start working the minute the H1B quota is increased. Moreover stuedents already here can start working and dont have to be at the mercy of the H1b quota to graduate etc.

When did u apply for your ead? i am in the same boat and have filed for paper based EAD. hope to get my fp notice soon.
I applied for my EAD and AP renewal on the second week of May 2008. Again, I am not sure if EAD or AP renewal triggered the FP notice. Good luck to you.

I140-> Applied to NSC-> Approved by TSC->March 2007

Hi All,
Me and my wife got our physical cards today. Buit the issue is my wife last name hasnt not been changed to my last name. It is still her maiden name. We have requested them while filing for I-485 with our marriage certificate.
We can still live with this but there SSn, Passport everything has been changed to my last name already. even has EAD card had my last name.
Any sugguestion as wat can be done. We r afraid were gettin our green card happiness will take a while now.

I think we should go to USCIS/DOS office. But problem is we have to do this on weekdays and most of member won't be join on weekdays because of work.
If we do on weekend then we will get more response but then offices will be closed unless they working on weekend as they did last weekend.
Are you serious? If people are so much interested in getting a GC and would like to make an impact, a day's work should not be a big deal. Forget the weekend stuff as DC streets have no federal government business on weekends. There are some guys who are willing to drive from NY/NJ/NC.
Even if we take the poll and lets say 500 people would like to come, that number will become 250 or less as most of us will have last minute issues as usual :p

H-1B visa holder is not authorized alien to work for any employer. Employer can not be asked to provide H-1B sponsorship.
Infact H-1B worker has lot of restrictions related to his work. H1-B worker has to work only in his job location and pay range as specified in LCA. Any significant changes in job location, job duties, and/or salary requires LCA and H-1B petition amendment. H-1B worker is out of status when out of job for any reason. EAD holders, OPT are immigrants, who are not permanent resident, but they do not have such restrictions. And, thats why, they are authorized alien to work for any employer. (Hint: SSN card for H-1B holder has line - work with USCIS authorization only whereas GC/EAD holder does not have that line on their SSN card).
Authorized alien include EAD holders, GC holders, OPT, and US citizens. If you don't believe me, feel free to put this question in lawyer's forum and let me know what response you get.

I landed on December 2009 on a Sunday and did the visa stamping on monday, for the h1 they asked status in canada and i said i landed yesterday; got the visa stamp but in the annotations it says canadian resident; got through the POS without problems

I got my EAD today...Even i received my EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? I haven't received receipts yet...I filled G-28...my attorney did not receive my receipts...I don't know what is going on...

For your Information India's GDP is 3 trillion USD compare to Mexico 1 trillion USD. Taking into account GDP of EU India ranks 5th in GDP higher than any indivisual European nation where as Mexico ranks 13th. This is as per CIA worldfactbook. So where did you get the number

Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Get your facts straight before you confront me and make fun of my MBA (which I got in the U.S. incidentally, not Mexico, but if I had wanted I could have gotten a top 20 MBA back home). Allows foreign workers who have started the green card process, but who are subject to green card backlogs, to pay a $500.00 supplemental fee to file an application to adjust status. This change would enable foreign workers to remain in the U.S. until the green card becomes available
Pending labor certification application in PBEC? or this only applies to people who have approved labor, approved I-140 or both?
