Please don't get me started now. Almost everyone on this forum lurks because of self interest. If one has to do public service , I would join a organization like CRY etc.
Regarding yourself, you lurk on this forum to show you are better than others now that you have your "citizenship". I doubt you have contributed even a single cent to the cause or written any letter or contacted any lawmaker. And I don't blame you because you have no reason to do that.

I used AVR (Automatic Revalidation Rule) to get back to US. If u have an expired stamp and a valid I-797, u can show ur PP alongwith original 797 and they'll let u in. But if u have used AP to re-enter before, u will need to use AP to enter US after ur landing. That being said, I know atleast 5 cases in the recent past who came back to US successfully using AP after their Canadian landing. I agree its a risk but most of the cases cud be hear-say. Just act innocent and that u dint know about the risk if at all u get questioned. Again, when the law permits u, why shud they question? Also, u still dont have ur US GC in ur hands...so let them know of it in a nice way if they harass u. Tell them that once u get ur US GC u will give up ur Canadian PR.
It is easier said than done. When you are entering you are at the discretion of IO and you do not know all the laws. In this particular case, the people tried to convince IO that they were planning to let canada PR go once they receive US GC but the IO was determined to revoke their AOS. So there is nothing really you can do at that point in time.

Mine was mailed by june 29th and was delivered by July 1st at 10:10 pm by United states postal service (priority mail). Do not ask me how.. it's still a mystery to me.

I have finally received my FP notice today for my I-485. My case was NSC-CSC-NSC. Never made any service request.
I have recently applied (paper based) for renewal of EAD and AP. Not sure if that triggered the FP notice.
I wish good luck to those who are still waiting for FP notice.
When did u apply for your ead? i am in the same boat and have filed for paper based EAD. hope to get my fp notice soon.

Only logic I can think of is Obama is trying to make low-life irresponsible unskilled Americans happy at the cost of skilled Indian workers. How can this retrogress to 2000. This is insane. I miss the good old Bush days and hope that McCain would have been the President.

I think you will get in less than 2 years. It will not take 10 years. Hang on. Total GC process time from applying to labor to getting GC usually is 4 years. some unlucky people had to wait more than that. But more than 80% fall in to 4 year time line.

Thats not true. My PD is March 2005. When my PD comes, I have to apply for EAD whereas others will get GC. Oh such a screwed up system.

Mine was a EB2 India, Feb 2006 PD. I was hopeful in the month of august, but then I had lost hope because everybody was saying visa numbers got over. However, surprisingly they approved the case in September. Looks like CIS has many aces ups its sleeve. It never fails to surprise us.
Also, I received only one soft LUD on my application, then suddenly it is card production ordered.. wow.
Anyway, it FREEEEEEEEEEEEDOM...............

I guess I saw a mistake on the writing....
On July 13th, 2007, DoS provided a glimmer of hope to these aspiring legal immigrants, by announcing in their visa bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3258.html) that all Employment-based green card applicants and their dependents would be eligible to apply for their Green cards, during the month of July 2007
It is June 13th not July13th the first visa bulletin sent out by DoS.

100% correct. I guess its human. If you did not file for 485 in Jul 07, people want to file when PD is not current. For people who filed and are waiting, want the backlog cleared. People who have GC are "worried" about getting citizenship :). People who just came in, are worried about they PERM/140 approvals.

I think the substituters were the smart ones (though a few of them were burned during the process). I guess, people like you and I choose to follow the safe route.

Today, I received the approval notice in mail. However I did not get the physical cards. The notice says that I may have to do the biometrics again to get the but need not take any action at this time.
Did you receive the physical cards by now?
My Case:
08/12/08 - Approval Notice Sent message (This is the only message I got)
08/18/08 - Received the Approval notice by post
No cards till now...:confused:

In ideal situation Desi employer should provide value rather than just scrape money as revenue sharing mechanism.
If a desi employer can go and get projects and becomes preferred vendor, he would not even do H-1s. He will use a Sub. Believe me H-1B visa is a pain in the ass even for the employer too.
There is a reason desi employers exist. both the desi employers and desi employees pick the best possible scenario/solution with respect to their situation.

and they will notify me about appearing for biometrics if required.
